One-minute mindfulness
You do not have to empty your mind. Notice this moment with a little less argument. Eyes-open is allowed. Walking and washing dishes count.
- Feel both feet, or the chair under you.
- Breathe in a little, out a little longer — three times. Skip this if breath-focus makes you worse.
- Name five things you can see, or one sound that is here.
- If a thought shows up, label it “thinking” and come back. Wandering is the reps.
- For one minute: both feet, three slower exhales, five things I can see.
- What is happening now that is not the worry story?
- Can I keep my eyes open and still be here — sound, weight in the chair, air on my hands?
